(Enemy) The title of the picture is based on a movie with the same name starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The meaning behind this picture is a lot deeper than what it seems. The reason why half of Jared’s face is blue and the other half is dark is because of the meaning of the picture. The blue represents the spark of hope when we are in dark places. The shadow, on the other hand, represents the enemy within ourselves. It represents that even when we steep too low into ourselves it is the other side of our personalities. Our embarrassment, our resentment, our weaknesses are part of us no matter how much we wish it wasn’t, and sometimes it is not a bad idea to remind ourselves that they exist. Once we find out what lies in the trenches of our mind, then the light begins to resonate from within.
