These are my stories.
Welcome! First of all, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read through this & for viewing my portfolio. You are the reason why I produce stories & collaborate with so many other filmmakers. Filmmaking is my way of life & I cannot appreciate you enough for being here.

Below are the films I have either produced myself or participated significantly in. These range from class finals to independent narrative projects. The top left is my most recent work and the bottom right is where I started. I still have so much more that I would love to make so here's to the future!
Revengeance 4000
This is my all-time favorite film that I have been a part of. Set in 1994, after a brutal assault shatters her life, a college student joins forces with other survivors to reclaim their power in a fiery act of REVENGEANCE.

For this project, I was the Director of Photography.

This project was completed in December 2024.
Harmony of the Drums
This film has been one of the most challenging projects I have been apart of so far in my career as a filmmaker. My camera work was put to the test by me utilizing Dolly, handheld, and Easy-Rig movements all while capturing an amazing choreographed fight scene. The Director, worked extensively in order to provide me a clear vision of what he wanted for this film which I believe we accomplished with great precision.

This film won Best Set Design at the 2024 SDSU Emerging Filmmakers showcase!

This project was completed in April 2024.
Chillin with Charlie
This short process film was made for my documentary class as an exercise during my Spring 2024 semester. The guidelines for this exercise was to show a process from beginning the end in a creative and interesting manner.

For this project, I was responsible for all aspects of this film including the cinematography, editing, and audio mixing!

This project was completed in February 2024.
LOVE BEYOND LIFE
This was my class final for my SDSU Spring 2023 semester! It was a lot of fun to make and I learned a ton during this production. We had no restrictions on this piece which meant full control on every aspect. The director/writer, Camilo Dunoyer, wrote this as dark comedy about a couple moving on from their past lives.

For this project, I was one of the cinematographers and sound mixers. I also assisted the director in minor editing!

This project was completed in May 2023.
THE PLACE BEYOND TIME
This film was created by my brother Diego Sanchez for his portfolio petition for SDSU and UC Long Beach. It tells the story of a frightened young man waking up next to a dead body. He goes on a short journey discovering the world he is currently in, might not be his actual home.​
​
I was one of the main characters in this film as well as one of the editors.
​
This project was completed in September 2022.
BLUES
"Blues" is a psychedelic neo-noir music video about a confused individual who loses himself in a different world in order to leave his problems behind. This music video features San Diego local artist, OMR. The short features a wide variety of different lighting techniques, visual effects, and transitions which were included with the intention of creating a more immersive experience.

I was a part of the whole process which included Cinematography, Visual Effects, Producing, and Directing. I was the lead editor as well.
​
This project was completed in May 2021.
SANDWICH TIME
"Sandwich Time" was my first college project that I made for my first production course at Southwestern College. This assignment was to produce a "process film" which in short is to visually explain how to do a certain task.​ I like to include shorts like these to show how evolution as a filmmaker which I believe is incredibly interesting to showcase.

This project was completed in March 2020.
Iron and Hope
This is an SDSU senior thesis film that tells the story of a young gunslinger fighting against a corrupt cybernetic government while searching for her sister. She's joined by a cyborg mechanic with no more reasons left to live.

For this project, I was the Director of Photography.​​​

This project was completed in December 2024.
Standard Deviation - Documentary
This exciting documentary captures the mindset and struggle behind an SDSU student Alex Luna and how he trains to eventually conquer a 5.10a climb at Mission Trails in San Diego. I worked alongside my classmates Jaclyn Reed and Sean Alex with producing, planning, shooting, and editing this documentary. It was incredibly challenging but worth every second.

For this project, I was the one of the Directors of Photography alongside Sean Alex.

D-Day
This short silent film was made for my intermediate film class in my Spring 2024 semester. The guidelines were to not include any on-screen dialogue or voice over. I assisted the Director with a lighting plan as well as executing the shot list efficiently.

This project was completed in February 2024.
THE GAMES WE PLAY
​This film serves as my midterm piece for my first semester at San Diego State! This was a collaboration between two of my classmates and the project requirements were to produce this film without dialogue. This short is about a girl who has mesmerizing fantasies and misinterpretations about her schoolboy crush. It was definitely a fun one to edit!
My classmates directed and wrote the film while I was the Cinematographer and Editor!

This project was completed in March 2023.
NIGHT WALKER
"Night Walker" is a homage to the amazing video game "The Wolf Among Us" and was heavily inspired by the trailer for "The Wolf Among Us 2." It tells the short story of an mysterious investigator running through his report of a violent incident.
​
This film was made as my final project for Southwestern College's FTMA 101 course. I am responsible for the directing, cinematography, editing, and audio for this film.
​
This project was completed in May 2022.
THE LEGEND OF CLIFF
"The Legend of Cliff" is a 60-second spot that was created as an individual project for my directing FTMA 127 class at Southwestern College. This spot is about a lone hiker who is rising to the top of a mountain with the help of a mysterious man.
​
I wrote, directed, and shot this spot. It was extremely fun and challenged me as the requirement was to keep it under one minute!

This project was completed in May 2021.
CUFF THE SLEEVES
"Cuff the Sleeves" was the first video-related project that inspired me to actually want to pursue filmmaking! The assignment was to make a project in any period of time in American history. I decided to go with a montage of greasers and things related to that time period.
​
I was in my junior year of high school when I made this! We all have to start somewhere!
​
This project was completed in May 2019.
Glow
This film is an SDSU petition portfolio film for a classmate of mine. It tells the story of two grieving siblings processing the death of a parent.

This project was completed in August 2024.
Tiger's Blood
This film was incredibly interesting to work on as I had to come up with creative and efficient ways to assist the DP in lighting an outdoor setting. I had to use flags, 12x12's, and 6x6's in order to achieve an aesthetically pleasing look!

This project was completed in April 2024.
Behind Closed Cheeks
This short Noir film was made for my cinematography class during the Fall 2023 semester. I was in charge of designing the lighting plan, setting up C-Stands and related grip equipment, and placing the proper lights to achieve a cinematic look.

This film was shown at the SDSU 2024 Kolorhouse Film Festival!

This project was completed in November 2023.
LIGHT OF EVIL
This film opened at the SDSU 2023 Kolorhouse Film Festival and was played at the 2023 Unpop Short Film Festival!

This film was created as a portfolio piece to petition for San Diego State University's impacted TFM program. This was one of my main pieces alongside Blues which led to my acceptance into the University! It tells the short story of a group of miners uncovering an unknown evil lurking deep within the forest. I had to work around various new challenges but ultimately I found a way to bring this story into the light.

I am responsible for all aspects of the film except for the acting of course!

This project was completed in October 2022.
THE SHOOTOUT
This film was a class final that my brother and I wrote for our directing class. It involves two buyers attempting to bid for a priceless item. Once the truth is revealed, they battle it out into an intense yet exaggerated shootout.

This film was made as a final project for Southwestern College's FTMA 127 course. I was responsible for editing, shooting, and co-directing.

This project was completed in December 2021.
"THE BOUNTY" A STAR WARS SHORT FAN FILM
"The Bounty" is the first official short film for my production studio Madmen Productions. This fan film takes place in the universe of "Star Wars" and is about a lone Jedi who encounters a hooded figure in the middle of a mass genocide known as "Order 66."

The project faced various setbacks because of the Covid-19 pandemic that we managed to work around and overcome using Covid-safe protocols.
​
I was in charge of the visual effects, cinematography, fight choreography, editing, and graphics. I was the main character as well!
​
This project began in February of 2020 and was completed in April 2021
